“The Pact” was about the story of Rameck Hunt, Sampson Davis
and George Jenkins, who left their hometown of Newark, New Jersey to go to
college. These doctors strife to inspire the children of their city to stay out
of gangs, and to use school and education as a way to stay out of trouble. Malique is the 12-year-old narrator of the
film and a Newark resident whom the three men have taken under their wing.
Malique’s father abandoned his family when his sister was born and he lives
with his mother and younger sister, who suffers from a rare, neurological
disorder.
